Supporting Teaching Endorsement; Secondary School

The Department of Mathematics recommends the following credits in mathematics:
    Geometry (Euclidean and non-Euclidean) -- Math 444,445 - Geometry for Teachers (3, 3) and 487, accompanying computer lab (1,1)
    Probability and Statistics -- Math 394, and either Stat 311, Math/Stat 390 or QSCI 381 (7-8)
    Logic and Problem Solving -- Math 354, 355 or Phys 407, 408, 409 (10 - 15)
History of Math or Foundations of Math -- Math 411, 412 (6)

Total Credits -- 31-37

It is assumed one year of calculus and a course in linear algebra will have already been completed as these are the prerequisite courses for the above math courses. Math 124, 125, 126 and 308 satisfy this requirement at UW.

As a general rule, mathematics courses are primarily offered during the day. We have a very limited offering of evening courses. The math courses for teachers, 444/445, 411/412, are also offered during Summer Quarter. Please check with the Student Services Office, C-36 Padelford, (206)543-6830, for specific information about class meeting times.
