Interface pinning and anisotropies arising from periodic homogenization

William Feldman, University of Utah
Tuesday, March 16, 2021 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Zoom (link will be distributed via email; if you'd like to attend please email Silvia at ghinassi@uw.edu)

will talk about some examples where new kinds of singular anisotropic effective equations arise at large scales from the homogenization of interface motions in periodic media (Bernoulli free boundary problem, mean curvature flow).  We have some results about uniqueness/regularity but I will try to also explain about the (many) open questions.
