Mary Sheetz, the former long-time administrator of the UW Mathematics department, passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 74. Mary had been a fixture in the department since the 1980s where she had mentored several of our current staff members and remained a beloved member of the UW Math community well past her retirement in late 2012. Her son, Steven Sheetz, has also been a long-time member of the UW Math community having served as our IT lead for many decades.
