Soumik Pal was elected to the 2025 class of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) Fellows in recognition of his research and pedagogical leadership. To quote the citation, he was honored "for significant contributions to the mathematics and applications of probability, the educational environment, and to the mission of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics." In addition to being the associate chair and Robert B. Warfield, Jr., Endowed Faculty Fellow in the department of mathematics, he also holds adjunct professorships at the departments of applied mathematics and statistics at the University of Washington.
