The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) has awarded Gunther Uhlmann the 2011 Kleinman Prize, which is given for "outstanding research, or other contributions, that bridge the gap between mathematics and applications." The award ceremony will take place at the ICIAM in Vancouver in July. See the SIAM website for more information and a list of previous recipients.
