A CareerCast report on The Best Jobs of 2014 ranks Mathematician first, with the comments that "careers in mathematics are diverse and rewarding" and "the field also has a positive outlook for continued future growth." The Wall Street Journal picked up the story, quoting publisher Tony Lee's view that "math skills unlock a world of career opportunities."

What's second? Tenured university professor. No wonder Padelford is such a happy place.
