Reid Dale has been named one of the four 2014 recipients of the College of Arts and Sciences' Dean's Medal, presented annually to an outstanding student in each of the College's four divisions. He is also the recipient of an NSF graduate fellowship, which he will use to pursue a PhD in mathematics at UC Berkeley. Reid already has a head start, having just visited Berkeley for a semester to pursue several research projects under the supervision of Professor Thomas Scanlon. He is the eleventh math major to receive the Dean's Medal in the past thirteen years.
