The department is proud to introduce two new assistant professors: Dima Drusvyatskiy and Bianca Viray. Dima joins us from the University of Waterloo where he was a postdoctoral fellow after receiving his PhD from Cornell. He works in nonsmooth optimization and variational analysis. Bianca joins us from Brown, where she was an NSF postdoctoral fellow and Tamarkin assistant professor after receiving her PhD at UC, Berkeley. She works in number theory and algebraic geometry.
