MATH 557 A: Introduction to Partial Differential Equations

First quarter of a three-quarter sequence. Reviews the theory of distribution theory, weak derivatives, and Fourier transform; Laplace, heat, wave, Schrodinger equations; and notion of Euler-Lagrange equation and variational derivative. Prerequisite: a minimum grade of 3.5 in MATH 526.
