Tensors and Polynomials

In this pre-seminar, we briefly overview tensors, their decompositions and applications in data processing.  The subject is central to diverse research communities.  We discuss beautiful connections to classical algebraic geometry, going at least back to Sylvester in the mid 19th century.  It is not necessary to attend the pre-seminar in order to understand the main seminar talk.
