Title: Brauer groups of moduli of hyperelliptic curves and their
compactifications
compactifications
Abstract:
in this talk I will present the computation of the Brauer
group of the moduli stack of hyperelliptic curves of fixed genus. I will
also discuss similar results for two different compactifications of this
moduli stack, namely the one obtained via stable curves and the one
obtained via admissible covers. Our techniques actually yield an
explicit description of the unramified cohomology of these stacks, and
they are based on the theory of cohomological invariants of algebraic
groups. Joint work with Roberto Pirisi.
