This event is aimed at students who recently finished their prelims and/or are transitioning into the research focused phase of the PhD program. We will discuss how to get started on research, the role of an advisor, how to choose one, suggestions for how to use your research time, etc. This talk will focus on general advice and encouragement. All are welcome to attend, ask questions, and share their experiences.
