Geometry and Dynamics: Continued fractions and the Gauss map

This is the fourth talk in a series designed to describe a connection between hyperbolic geometry and analytic number theory by connecting the Gauss map on [0,1] and the geodesic flow on the unit tangent bundle of the modular curve.

This talk will focus on the basic properties of continued fraction and hope to prove their rate of convergence.
