Billiards in polygons and polyhedra

Starting with the simple problem of trying to understand the motion of a particle inside a polygon or polyhedron, we see connections to various areas of mathematics, including ergodic theory and dynamical systems, the geometry of surfaces and moduli spaces, and the study of differentials on Riemann surfaces.
