Mathematical Adventures with Knitting Machines

Fabienne "fbz" Serriere will present an adventurous overview of her generative and one-off knitwear created with mathematics.  She will discuss the knittability of one dimensional cellular automata, differential equations for seashell generative patterns, and more.

Fabienne “fbz” Serriere is a futurist at heart, but one who believes that the future should be present during the present.  She splits her time between hardware hacking, future fabric prototyping, interactive furniture design, photography, obsessing about prime numbers, and adding to her vintage and modern gadget collections.
