Introduction to the geodesic X-ray transform: Lecture 3

I will introduce the geodesic X-ray transform of a compact non-trapping manifold with strictly convex boundary and prove solenoidal injectivity for tensors of any order in the case of simple surfaces. Some ingredients of the proof will be explored in more detail during the course on geometric inverse problems in the spring.
