Enumerating square-tiled surfaces in genus two.

Square-tiled surfaces (STSs) are basic examples of surfaces with a flat metric that are branched covers of the standard torus. In this talk we will review counting results pertaining to the enumeration of STSs and focus our attention, in particular, on genus two STSs.
