K-stability and singularities

Kristin De Vleming, UCSD
via Zoom

In the main talk, I will discuss a family of compactifications of moduli spaces via K-stability.  The goal of the pre-seminar will be to understand that sentence.  I will introduce K-stability (tagline: “looks like infinite dimensional GIT”) and the singularities of K-stable objects, do some examples, and talk about compactifying moduli spaces of log Fano pairs using K-semistable pairs.  This will be full of examples and time for questions.
