Catalog Description: 
Elementary theory of groups: Cosets and Lagrange's theorem. Homomorphisms, normal subgroups, quotient groups, and the fundamental isomorphism theorems. Cyclic and symmetric groups. Orders and Cauchy's theorem. Direct products. Automorphisms. Prerequisite: either minimum grade of 2.0 in MATH 300 and MATH 308, or MATH 334. Offered: AS.
